Park Entry Fees
Each park is ticketed separately — there is no single pass that covers all three. Prices below are taken from the official price boards posted at each gate.
Wulingyuan Scenic Area
National Forest Park · Yuanjiajie · Tianzi Mountain · Suoxiyu
Three ticket combinations. Most travelers buy the combined Admission + Eco-bus package — the eco-bus is the only way to move between scenic zones inside the park.

Who qualifies for free or preferential pricing?
Free admission (¥0)
Children under 14, seniors aged 65+, persons with disabilities, active military personnel, families of military personnel, "three categories of survivors" (families of martyrs and military personnel who died in service or from illness), disabled veterans, retired military cadres. One free escort permitted for severely disabled persons (levels 1–2). Bring valid ID.
Preferential (half price)
Minors aged 14 to 18 (exclusive of 18), seniors aged 60 to 65 (exclusive of 65), full-time students with a bachelor's degree or below. Bring valid student card or ID.
Eco-bus free tier
Children under 14 ride the eco-bus free.
Tianmen Mountain
Heaven's Gate · Glass Skywalk · 99-bend mountain road
Tianmen's official price board is famously confusing. The trick is that the "A / B / C lines" you'll see at the ticket office aren't different products — they're different orders in which you ride the same combination of cableways, escalators, and steps. All three lines cost the same. Choose your ticket in three steps:

All three lines include: park entry + main Tianmen Cableway + transmountain escalator + Express Cableway. The difference is the order.
Top first, cave last
Take the spectacular 7.5km cableway to the summit while you're fresh. Walk the cliff-top loops. Descend through Heaven's Gate via the escalator and 999 steps in the afternoon. Express cableway back to start.
- Big cableway up
- →
- Top loop walk
- →
- Escalator down
- →
- 999 steps
- →
- Express cableway back
Why we recommend it: the big cableway is best in clear morning light, and you'll hit Heaven's Gate after the morning tour-bus rush has cleared.
Cave first, top last
Reverse of A. Express cableway up, climb 999 steps to Heaven's Gate, escalator up through the cave to the summit, walk the top, ride the big cableway down.
- Express cableway up
- →
- 999 steps
- →
- Escalator up
- →
- Top loop walk
- →
- Big cableway down
Pick this if afternoon weather looks better for the summit, or if you want the dramatic reveal of Heaven's Gate first.
Cave → top → cave
The completionist route. Bottom first, escalator up to the top, walk the loops, escalator back down through the cave a second time, then express cableway back to start.
- Express cableway up
- →
- 999 steps
- →
- Escalator up
- →
- Top loop walk
- →
- Escalator down
- →
- Express cableway back
Skips the big cableway entirely — choose this if you want to spend extra time near Heaven's Gate or the cableway is shut for maintenance.
Plan ~8 hours total. Roughly 5 hours wandering the summit (West Line + East Line glass walks, suspension bridge, Tianmen Temple, overlooks), and 1–1.5 hours at the cave area. Tight on time? Skip the East Line and just walk the West Line up top.
Optional add-ons (bought separately)
None of these are bundled into any package. Pay at the start of each.
| Add-on | What it is | Full | Discount |

| Forest Sightseeing Chairlift | Open-air ride along the summit ridge — best on a clear day | ¥25 | ¥13 |
| Cave Escalator (lower section) | Saves you climbing the 999 steps to Heaven's Gate | ¥32 | ¥16 |
| Glass Skywalk Shoe Covers | Mandatory if you want to walk any of the cliffside glass paths | ¥5 | — |

Cable Cars & Bailong Elevator
All prices below are taken from the official "Three Cableways & One Elevator" price board posted inside Wulingyuan. The eco-bus is included in your park ticket — these are the four paid lifts inside the park. Full price applies to most adults; the discount price covers ages 14–18, students, seniors 60+, military, and disabled visitors. Children under 14 ride free.
Pay-as-you-go (one-way)
Best if you only plan to use one or two of these. Buy at the platform with WeChat Pay or cash.
| Lift | What it does | Full | Discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tianzishan Cableway | Up to Tianzi Mountain summit (avoids the long stair climb) | ¥72 | ¥36 |
| Yangjiajie Cableway | Into the Yangjiajie zone — quieter, dramatic ridge views | ¥76 | ¥38 |
| Huangshizhai Cableway | South Gate area up to the Huangshizhai plateau loop | ¥65 | ¥33 |
| Bailong Elevator | 335 m glass elevator from canyon floor to Yuanjiajie plateau | ¥65 | ¥33 |
Round-trip = simply 2× one-way (¥130 full / ¥66 discount for the elevator). There is no separate round-trip discount.
Combination passes (cheaper if you'll use 3+ rides)
Each combo is valid for 4 consecutive days from purchase and covers any combination of the four lifts above.
4-Trip Combo
¥238
Adult · ≈ $33
- Discount
- ¥128
Any 4 one-way rides across the four lifts. Mix and match (e.g. Bailong up + Tianzishan down + Huangshizhai round-trip). No refund for unused rides.
Unlimited Combo
¥298
Adult · ≈ $41
- Discount
- ¥158
Unlimited rides on all four lifts for 4 days. Pays off if you'll do 5+ one-way rides — easy to hit if you visit Yuanjiajie, Tianzi Mountain and Huangshizhai on different days.
Park + Lifts All-In
¥530
Adult · ≈ $73
- Discount
- ¥277
Unlimited park entry + eco-bus + all four lifts for 4 days. The "buy nothing else" pass — replaces the regular ¥236 admission combo.
Quick math
If you only do Bailong up + Tianzishan down (¥137 total), pay-as-you-go wins. From 3 one-way rides upward, the ¥238 combo starts to pay off; from ~5 rides, the ¥298 unlimited pass is the cheapest path. The ¥530 all-in pass only beats buying ¥236 admission + ¥298 lifts (= ¥534) if you want one ticket and zero queueing at admission gates.
